The sports utility vehicle (SUV) segment has been gaining considerable popularity in the Indian market over the last few years. Given the popularity of SUVs, manufacturers are also trying to woo customers by launching affordable SUVs in the Indian market.

 If you are planning to buy an SUV then you have many options but if your budget is tight, then there are not much options today. But soon there will be new options in low budget range. Here are 5 upcoming SUVs, which can be priced within 10 lakhs. 

Renault Kiger

Nissan has entered the sub-four meter SUV segment with Magnite, and Nissan’s sister brand Renault is also almost ready to launch the Kiger. Like Magnite, the Kiger will also be based on the CMF-A + modular platform, which can get a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol and 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine, just like the Magnite. The main deal maker thing about Kiger will be its price. The company claims that the Kiger, like Magnite, will be significantly cheaper than its competitor. Reports are claiming that features not found in Magnite can be found in the Kiger, such as electric sunroofs.

Tata HBX

 Tata showcased its concept SUV in last year’s Auto Expo, named as HBX. Its production ready model has been seen many times during testing in India. According to reports, it can be launched around April or May under the name ‘Hornbill’. The car may have equipped with a smartphone connectivity touchscreen infotainment system, semi-digital instrument cluster, split headlamps with LED DRL and Harman Source audio system.

Hyundai AX

Hyundai is also rapidly working on its sub-four meter SUV, which is codenamed as AX1. The car has been seen many times during testing. According to reports, it will come with the K1 platform similar to Centro and Hyundai’s fashion design, which will set a benchmark in the segment. It can be equipped with a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, 5-speed manual and option automatic transmission.

Citroen C3

The first product of Citroen in the Indian market may be the C3 under the C-Cubed program, although the manufacturer will launch its C5 Aircross in India before that. The C3 (codenamed C21) has been spotted during testing last year and is expected to be launched in the second half of the year. The C3 will be based on the company’s CMP platform and will come with the company’s own 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder Puretech petrol engine. Like other models of Citroen, the C3 will be equipped with a curvy body design and sporty exteriors. The sub-four meter SUV will get split headlamps equipped with LED DRLs.

Ford EcoSport facelift

The Ford EcoSport is one of the oldest sub-four meter SUVs in the country. However, the SUV has not received any generational update yet. EcoSport is now outdated compared to its competitors due to increased competition in the segment. The company is now working on its facelift model, which may be launched soon. It is expected that the facelift model will get many new features including a sport front bumper with large grille and 360 degree camera including re-style headlamps.
