Couple arrested for protesting IS-CAA: Delhi..

Recently there is news coming from Delhi regarding CAA protest. Delhi Police Special Cell arrested a couple on Sunday. The couple is from Kashmir with a stated Islamic state link said that they were doing the protest against Citizenship Act. The couple resides in Southeast Delhi’s Jamia Nagar and an FIR registered on the behalf of their name at Jamia Nagar police station under the section of sedition and criminal conspiracy and the Unlawful Prevention Act. Pramod Singh Kushwah, DPC of Special Cell states that this couple ( Jahanzaib Sami, 36 and his wife Hina Bashir Beg, 39), they were from Srinagar have connections with the Khorasan module of IS. Police also fount out that Jahanzaid Sami helps in publishing the February edition of IS magazine Sawt al-Hind (Voice of India) as working with a private firm. Delhi Police is collecting all the evidence regarding this.

A senior police officer said that they were tracking the things from the past three years and now they got the clue and connecting every brick to another brick and comes to the conclusion that the couple was kept in touch with them and providing them with all the information. Then nowadays when they start tracking the couple they found them in sharing and distributing literature, which related to anti-CAA crowds. The people’s in their neighborhood and their landlord refused to talk. Some people state that they don’t even know that they lived there, when the news comes on television they got to know about them. They usually come and go but never had a conversation with anyone nearby them. One of their known named Rashid said that they keep seeing them but never spoke with them. Sami and his wife were well educated as Sami is a web designer and his wife has a degree in MBA. And they heard some names like Dawood, Ibrahim, Xaib, Abu Muhammed Al-Hind and Abu Abdullah.

The police collect four mobile phones, one laptop, one external hard-disc and other suspicious material from the house where the couple used to live from the past 25 August 2019. While the DCP conducting the interrogation session, it came to know that the couple created so many IDs on social media like Instagram, Telegram, Twitter, Facebook, Threema and many other platforms. They were making contact with people’s on social media while found chatting with them. Police also states that the couple has connections with the senior member of ISKP in Afghanistan and they previously discussed the ongoing protests in the country.
