As the results of the Lok Sabha elections are out, and Modi has been comfortably re-elected to the highest post of power in the country, it seems he has decided to take a landmark decision. Two of his close confidantes in key governmental positions said on the condition of anonymity that Modi has instructed his policymakers to not opt for a 100 day plan rather prepare a more comprehensive 1000 day plan. This plan is expected to run well into the 75th year of independence, i.e. 2022.

The plan includes several new initiatives as Modi seeks to fulfill “New India”

The program is said to include several new initiatives including promoting women in agriculture as well as sending an Indian into space, sources said. They also claim that they have been instructed to prepare this plan without paying any heed to the constitution of the government and the allocation of portfolios to ministers. It is being claimed that the new ministers and heads will follow the plan and chalk out comprehensive strategies so that these goals can be achieved.

Emphasis has been placed on social welfare programs

A huge emphasis is being placed on social welfare programs under the umbrella of “Antodaya” in order to appease and uplift India’s poor. Upon winning the elections, Modi in his address to party workers said that they will require the contribution and participation of every single worker and citizen in order to build a new, developed and more successful India. BJP President Amit Shah also said that the party was not in the mood to waste time celebrating, and they planned on working diligently right from day one.
