The show, and its host Karan Johar in particular, came under wide public criticism after the airing of the third episode of season 3 which featured Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor as guests. Johar asked them to speak about Ranbir Kapoor with whom they have both worked in the past; Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor had also been in a relationship for about 2 years and had broken up prior to her appearance on the talk show. When discussing the breakup, Padukone clearly stated about  Kapoor, “I think he needs to work on his boyfriend skills.” After the episode aired, Ranbir’s parents Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh had reportedly taken issue with the host, specially the comments made by the actresses. Rishi Kapoor totally blamed Johar for instigating and provoking  both the actresses to say all those things on air.
