KP Oli Credits Nepal For Origination Of Yogasana

Caretaker Prime Minister of Nepal KP Sharma Oli has once again given a controversial statement on International Yoga Day. In a bizarre claim, he said that yoga did not originate in India, but Nepal. He said this in a speech during his address on the occasion of International Yoga Day.

 He said that before the existence of India as a nation, yoga was practised in Nepal. Yoga has not originated in India. There was existing no country like India then. At that time, when Yoga being practised in Nepal, many border states were independent. In this way, yoga originated around Nepal or Uttarakhand.

We failed to propagate yoga; says Oli

He said that we could not take Yoga to the world, while the Prime Minister of India made it famous by proposing to celebrate International Yoga Day. Then it got recognition at the international level.

‘Time to rewrite the History’

 Oli said historical and religious facts were misrepresented. New history needs to be rewritten.  We should not lag behind in speaking the truth. We know history. No one can spoil it.

Lord Ram was born in Nepal, reiterates Oli

 The Prime Minister of Nepal reiterated the statement on the birth of Lord Ram. Oli once said that Lord Rama was born in the Madi area or Ayodhyapuri of Chitwan district of Nepal. As per him, Ram was not born in Ayodhya, India. He further said that there was also a Valmiki Ashram in Nepal. Sita died at Dev Ghat, which is near Ayodhyapuri and Valmiki Ashram.

Saints like Patanjali were born in Nepal

 In his address, Oli said that famous saints like Patanjali, Kapil-Muni, Charak were born in this country surrounded by the Himalayas, where they studied for a long time. He said that the herbs of the Himalayas cannot be studied from Varanasi. After researching these herbs in Nepal, herbs were later taken to Varanasi.
