Stay connected: Jio Announces 3 Plans For In-Flight Mobile Service In 22 International Flights

Good news for Indian international flyers! Reliance Jio has announced the in-flight mobile service in 22 flights of international routes.

For this, Jio has released 3 plans starting from Rs 499 per day.  Partner Airlines that will provide this in-flight mobile service include Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific Emirates, Euro Wings, Lufthansa, Etihad Airways, Malindo Air, Alitalia and Biman Bangladesh Airlines. 

After the induction of this special in-flight mobile service, Jio will become the second Indian telecom company and first Indian mobile service provider to provide in-flight mobile service.  Earlier, Tata group’s firm Nelco started in-flight mobile service at Vistara Airlines on London Routes.

How much to pay?                         

 Three international roaming packs have been announced in India by Jio for those travelling abroad.  These plans come in 499 rupees, 699 rupees and 999 rupees.  Single-day validity is available on these three plans.  All these plans will be provided with 100 minutes for outgoing calls along with 100 SMS.

 User will get 250MB mobile data on a plan of Rs 499.  At the same time, 500 MB data will be available on the plan of Rs 699, while the plan for Rs 999 will come with 1 GB of data. 

No incoming facility

Notably, there will be no facility for incoming calls on all three plans of Jio, while incoming SMS will be free.

 Those using the in-flight mobile service for the first time will have to activate the plan on the Jio network.  International roaming services will not work on Jio-Phone and Jio Wifi devices.
