Sikkim

History

Sikkim is the state located in the north east side of India, in the eastern Himalayas. It shares its boundaries with Tibet to the north and the northeast, Bhutan to the southeast, by the Indian state of West Bengal to the south, and by Nepal to the west. It covers an area around 7,096 sq km.

The capital of this state is Gangtok, which is situated in the north-eastern part of the state. There is a variation in the climate of this state, from tropical conditions to sever mountain climate changes. Its population consists 1/5th of scheduled tribes.
