by Shatakshi Gupta

Half of the August has already passed, nobody knows anything about whether theatres will open in the remaining next four months.  But, the filmmakers definitely hope that the government may allow the cinema to open till Dussehra.  Preparations are on to bring the audience back to theatres.  However, the truth is that to avoid this chaos, many producers have shifted their films for the next year.  Let us tell you, how the film calendar of new Hindi films is going to be in the coming days?

First, let’s talk about the films that may be released this year.

People associated with the film ‘Suryavanshi’ of Rohit Shetty Pictures, a subsidiary of Reliance Entertainment, hope that the film will be expected to release this year.  There will also be efforts to create an atmosphere in theatres before the release of ‘Suryavanshi’, but it will not be easy to bring the audience back to theatres.

After ‘Suryavanshi’, the second film which is expected to be released this year is Ranveer Singh and Deepika’s film ’83’.

Now let’s move to next year.  By then, perhaps the vaccine will also come for coronavirus and if it does not, then by then most people in the country will have antibodies.  The experts have started to believe that there are many people in the country who have been cured through Corona and they did not even know.  These people with no symptoms are expected to beat Corona.

In these new situations, the picture which is set for release on January 1, 2021, is Coolie number one.  Director David Dhawan and lead casts are Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan. This movie is a remake of Govind’s Coolie No.1.

After this, Akshay Kumar has already booked the date of April 2, 2021, for the release of his film ‘Bell bottom’.  He has left for the United Kingdom to shoot the film.  The film will be shot from start to finish and all the actors and staff will return only after finishing the entire shoot of the film.  The film is based on some true events of the 80s, featuring Akshay alongside Vaani Kapoor, Lara Dutta and Huma Qureshi.

Eid is expected to be on 12 or 13 May in the year 2021 and for this date actor Salman Khan can bring his film ‘Radhe- Your Most Wanted Bhai’.  This film has only 10 to 12 days of shooting and post-production work left.  Disha Patani and Randeep Hooda will also be seen in important roles with Salman in the film.

The next in the list is Ajay Devgan’s sports drama film Maidan, which has been set for next year after Eid in May.  The producer of the film Boney Kapoor has cancelled the entire shooting schedule of this year for this film.  Also, the film is scheduled to release next year around Independence Day.  It is a biography film in which Ajay will be seen as well-known football coach Syed Abdul Rahim.

Aamir Khan has also reserved next year’s Christmas date for his incomplete and much-awaited film ‘Lal Singh Chadha’.  Recently some of his photos surfaced while looking for a place in Turkey.  But it is now understood that Aamir is also planning to shoot this film in the country.

Another multi-star film on which everyone is eyeing is ‘Brahmastra’. Stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Nagarjuna Akkineni will be seen in lead roles.  The film was scheduled to release in December this year.  But, Amitabh Bachchan is not feeling well, and the patchwork of the film is still pending.  Though the work of VFX and special effects of the film is going on abroad, the film is more likely to be released next year.
