COVID-19 cases again start rising; First indigenous mRNA vaccine gets DCGI approval

Corona cases are rapidly growing in the country. In such circumstances, the number of active patients has surpassed one lakh. Let us tell you that in the last 24 hours, 18,819 new cases of corona have been reported, with 39 individuals dying. The number of patients who have been cured has risen to 13827. The number of active cases has crossed 1 lakh mark.

According to the Union Health Ministry’s statement on Wednesday, 18,819 persons have been infected in the last 24 hours, with 39 people dying. So far, the infection has been treated in 13,827 people. In total, 4,28,22,493 persons were cured of the virus.

 According to the government, the number of active cases has decreased to 0.24 percent. The country’s corona virus recovery rate was measured at 98.55 percent. The Health Ministry reports that the daily positivity rate has risen to 4.16 percent and the weekly positivity rate has risen to 3.71 percent.

197.61 crores have been spent on immunisation drives across the country. More than 4,52,430 tests have been performed in the previous 24 hours as part of the vaccination campaign.

Corona infection is becoming more common in the country. Following Kerala and Maharashtra, the number of infected people is fast increasing in Tamil Nadu, Bengal, Punjab, and Delhi.

Meanwhile, the DCGI has approved the Covovax vaccination for children aged 7 to 12 years. Serum Institute of India created this Covovax vaccine (SII).

Gennova Biopharmaceutical submitted data in April itself and additional data in May. In early May, Gennova gave a statement to ANI giving updates on the submission of Phase 3 data. A spokesperson said, “Gennova is in talks with the regulatory agency and the necessary data and information for product approval has been submitted.” The company had included 4000 participants in Phase 2 and Phase 3 trials. In this trial, the safety of the vaccine and its other aspects were also investigated. Corona Vaccine GEMCOVAC-19 is the country’s first indigenous mRNA COVID-19 vaccine and is being seen as a major change in the healthcare industry.
