Oscars Award 2021: Malayalam Film ‘Jallikattu’ Is India’s Official Entry For The Award

Every year, films are sent from different countries for international feature film or foreign language film category at the Oscars.  This year, from India ‘Jallikattu’, a Malayalam film, is sent from India. It is the now the official entry in this category. The film has won Indian and foreign awards before going to the Oscars. The selection has been made by a 14-member committee of the Film Federation of India from a shortlist of 26 films.

High expectations from the movie

 After coming to nomination, now people are expecting  high from Jallikattu. So far, this film has done well at the national and international level.

The film was first screened at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6, 2019. After which Jallikattu was also shown at the 24th Busan Film Festival. It was released in theatres of Kerala on October 4, 2019.  Where it proved to be a very successful film.  In the first week of its release, it earned 10 crores.

 Great performance by cast

 The cast of this film was also great.  Who performed well. The lead role was played by Anthony Varghese, Chemban Vinod Jose, Sandhi Balachandran, whose performance was highly praised.

 Storyline of the movie

 The story of this film begins with Kalan Varke, who is a butcher.  The entire village is dependent on him for buffalo meat.  One day a buffalo runs away after breaking the rope  and wreaks havoc in the entire village.  After this, villagers informed the police and then all efforts are made to catch the buffalo.  At the same time, the problems of the village have also been highlighted.  The story of the people of this village, who are facing problems like unemployment and poverty, also keeps going along. The trailer of this film was very impactful. If you have not seen this movie, a little guess can be made about it by watching its trailer.
