Education Minister Announced Dates For The UGC NET Exam

The December 2020 examination (postponed) of UGC NET will be held in May 2021 at the schedule.  The UGC NET December 2020 will be conducted from 2 to 7 May, 10 to 12 May, 14 May and 17 May 2021 by the National Examination Agency (NTA).

The online application process for UGC NET December 2020 (May 2021 cycle) starts from today, February 2, 2021. Interested candidates will be able to submit their application by visiting NTA’s UGC NET exam portal, ugcnet.nta.ac.in. The process of online application will run till 2 March 2021. UGC NET exam was delayed due to COVID-19

The Universities Grants Commission (UGC) National Eligibility Test for ‘Junior Research Fellowship’ and ‘Eligibility for Assistant Professor’ is conducted twice a year, usually in June and December, in universities and other higher education institutions across the country.   In the year 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the examination of June was delayed and later NTA conducted the examination from 16 September to 18 September and 21 September to 25 September. Due to delay of June exam, UGC NET December 2020 examination has also been delayed. In this sequence, today, the education minister informed about the UGC NET December 2020 exam to be conducted in the May 2021 cycle. 

 CBT mode Examination

 According to the UGC NET December 2020 exam notice of NTA shared by the Education Minister, the examination will be conducted using the Computer Based Examination (CBT) method as before.

 Application process and fees

 Applications for the UGC NET December 2020 (May 2021) examination can be made on the aforementioned NET exam portal.  Unreserved candidates will have to submit an application fee of Rs 1000 online at the time of application. At the same time, the application fee for general category EWS and OBC candidates is Rs 500. Whereas, SC, ST and transgender category candidates will have to pay an application fee of Rs 250. Along with this, Education Minister has wished a golden future for all the candidates.
