In winter, not only our skin faces problem but also our hair gets in bad condition.  During this season, many people start facing hair fall.  With proper care and a balanced diet, hair fall can be controlled. During winter humidity in the atmosphere drops significantly which leads to dryness of hair. Dryness is one of the most dominant causes of hair fall.

So in such time, it becomes important to take extra care of your hair. To prevent hair fall in this changing season, you can follow these tips:

Avoid hot shower

Avoid taking hot showers.  Washing hair with warm water for a long time can make hair dry and fizzy.  This causes damage to the hair and it starts to fall.

Avoid using hairdryer

Dry your hair naturally instead of blow-dry it.  Hair blow drying can break hair and remove all the moisture present in the hair.  Also, avoid going out with wet hair because the cold winter air can clog the moisture of the hair.

Use a mild shampoo that does not contain any chemical products such as SLS or paraben.  Using a shampoo filled with chemicals causes hair to dry and make it fall.  Therefore, it is very important to use a mild shampoo especially when the weather is changing.

 Steaming your hair frequently opens the pores and absorbs the nutrients well.  It also helps in the moisturizing scalp and strengthening hair.  By doing this, the hair becomes shiny and smooth.

Avoid sunlight, pollution and rain

Protect your hair from excessive exposure to sunlight, pollution, rain and dust.  These external agents make hair dry and lifeless.  So try to protect the hair as much as possible and if the hair becomes dirty, they should be washed on the same day.

Hair conditioning is the most important step to regain the required scalp moisture and prevent hair loss. This will maintain the texture of the hair during weather change and help to deal with the latent effect of heating products and cold winds.

Keep oiling your hair

Apply a natural oil to hair.  It helps to strengthen the hair roots by removing dryness. It can also help increase blood circulation in the scalp and prevent hair loss.

Follow a healthy diet

To promote hair growth and maintain hair quality, you should follow a good diet.  Include proper nutrients like proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals in diets for strong and healthy hair.  Include vitamins-A, B, C, magnesium, iron, zinc and calcium in the diet.
