Microsoft founder Bill Gates and his wife Melinda have announced their separation from each other. The couple has declared a divorce after 27 years of marriage. The couple said that we are ending our marital relationship. In the next phase of life, we can no longer move forward together. However, we will continue to work together in our foundation for the betterment of the people.
In a joint statement released on social media, Bill and Melinda Gates said, “after much deliberation and mutual conversation, we have decided to end our relationship. In the last 27 years, we have raised three wonderful children. We have also formed a foundation that works for the health and better life of people all over the world. We will still keep the same thinking and work together for this mission. However, we now feel that we will not be able to live together as husband and wife in the coming time of life. We are going to start afresh. In such a situation, people are expected to have space and privacy for our family.”

Bill Gates and Melinda first met in 1987 and the two accepted each other as spouses in 1994.

No effect on Social work
The foundation said Bill Gates, 65, who co-founded Microsoft Corp, and Melinda Gates would continue to work together in their existing roles as co-chairs and trustees of the organization.
“The pair will continue to work together to shape and approve foundation strategies, advocate for the foundation’s issues and set the organization’s overall direction,” the Gates Foundation said in a statement.
Who is Bill Gates?
Bill Gates is among the richest persons in the world. Apart from this, he is also known for his philanthropic work. Gates, who wrote the first software program at the age of 13, was born on October 28, 1955, in Seattle.
In his High school, Gates assisted a group of programmers in building the school’s payroll system and created Traf-O-Data, which sold traffic-counting systems to local governments.
Gates laid the foundation for Microsoft and created MS-DOS for International Business Machines (IBM) Corporation and the company became a hit. By the early 1990s, Microsoft had become the ultimate kingmaker in the PC industry.
In 1986, Gates joined the list of billionaires. Became the world’s richest person in 1995 and remained at the top for many years.
In June 2008, Gates disassociated himself from Microsoft’s day-to-day work so that he could devote more time to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for social work.
