Reasons for the failure of Congress

Before considering how to revive the congress party from the grave situation it faced in 2019, it is important for the party to know the reasons of failure for the failure of Congress. Some of the identified reasons for the failure of Congress are:

Failure to connect with the youth: Congress was not able to connect with the youth as much as BJP was connected. They have always targeted the poor and minority section of the society. Thus, it can be said that by focusing on youth Congress can get a chance to revive from the defeat.

Decline in the party’s victory margin:  After defeat in 2014 elections, Congress has been able to win in 3 states only. This has swiped Congress from various states. As a result, the public from the other states too has started loosing the confidence in the party which became the reason for defeat in 2019 elections. Hence, the congress now has to win the confidence of public by connecting well with the voters to prevent the stake of the party. In the present time, social media is the best medium to connect with the youth.

Targeting the problem, not the BJP party:  Rahul Gandhi in all his campaigns targeted PM Narendra Modi and his policies. This may be one of the reasons why the party has to face the defeat in the Lok Sabha elections 2019. Thus, Rahul Gandhi has to understand what the public wants to gain favours from the public.
