Who Is Payal Ghosh? Know About The Actress Who Accused Anurag Kashyap Of Sexual Harassment

Actress Payal Ghosh’s is all over the news these days. The actress has accused famous Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap of sexual harassment.  The alleged incident is about 5 to 6 years old, but the actress has recently revealed this in an interview.  The actress alleged that Anurag called her at his home and forced himself on her.

On this, Anurag and his lawyer Priyanka Khimani has described these allegations as baseless.  Amidst all these accusations, you must be curious to know about Payal Ghosh, who has accused Anurag of sexual abuse after so many years.

Early life and Career              

 Payal was born on 13 November 1989 in Kolkata.  Talking about her Alma Mater, she studied at St. Paul Mission School, Kolkata. Later, she did her graduation in Political Science from the Scottish Church College, Kolkata.

Payal started her acting career with the Sean Bean starrer TV film Sharpe’s Peril(2008).  Although her role was small in this film.  In the film, she played the role of a village girl and the daughter of a Bengali freedom fighter.

  Before entry in Bollywood

 Payal’s family did not want her to pursue a career in the film industry, but Payal was very clear on this, so she fled to Mumbai.  In Mumbai, she joined Kishore Acting Academy.  After this Payal got role offers in some films.  Payal acted in Telugu and Kannada films like Prayanam, Varshadhaare and Mr Rascal.

Payal has also appeared in the famous serial of star plus ‘Saath Nibhana Saathiya’ in 2016.  She played the role of Radhika in this serial.

Entry in Bollywood

 In 2017, Payal made her debut in Bollywood.  Payal made her Bollywood debut with ‘Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi’.  In this film, she appeared in the lead role alongside Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal.  Although this film did not run on screen.

Payal had shared her experience of working with Paresh Rawal, she said “ Paresh ji played my father in this film.  By interacting with her onscreen and off-screen, I feel as if I am talking to my real father.  I have the best bonding with him.”
