Mahagathbandan-Alliance of BSP, SP and RLD may have fallen short of the expectations but Mayawati led BSP is the biggest gainer among its allies. Mayawati is known for effectively managing the transfer of her votes whenever she contests in alliance. This time also she has been benefitted from her allies and bagged around19.26 per cent of the votes. BSP has won a decent of 10 seats out of 38 in UP in which it contested as alliance while it was unable to open its accounts in the last Loksabha elections.

Mayawati kept everything at stake

It is very clear that in the Loksabha elections 2019, Mayawati had to keep everything at stake to maintain the status of BSP as the political party. For this, she had not only joined hands with its major rival, Samajwadi Party but she had even campaigned for Mulayam Singh Yadav, SP’s patriarch, in Mainpuri. She even asked the public to forget the bitterness of the past and bring him back to the power in UP.

Keeping in mind the importance of loksabha elections 2019, BSP Supreme Mayawati has done what no one in the caste ridden state can think of. She has agreed for the alliance with SP and RLD and went for campaigns for both the parties as well.

Posing the challenge for BJP

No doubt that BSP-SP-RLD alliance was the biggest challenge for BJP in the general elections 2019. The alliance had conducted rallies all over in UP with the intension to drew attention from a large crowd. This had given the strength to Mayawati, Prime ministerial aspirant, to compete and gain benefits from the alliance.  She has given the clear indications in a rally in Ambedkarnagar that if everything goes off well then she may seek elections from there. This is because Ambedkarnagar gives the pass to the national politics.

Mayawati has won loksabha elections from Ambedkarnagar seat four times in 1989, 1998, 1999 and 2004. In 2009, BSP emerged as the biggest party in UP after clinching20 seats which was the biggest number ever. However, after ruling 5 years in UP, the party has not been able to secure even a single seat in Loksabha elections 2014 however with alliance it has won 10 seats this time. This shows Mayawati is a biggest gainer in loksabha elections 2019.
