India Vs Australia: India Lost The ODI Series With Defeat in 2nd ODI; Australia Scored The Highest Runs

Australia defeated the Indian team by 51 runs in the second match of the 3 ODI series.  With this, the team has taken an unassailable 2–0 lead in the series. Australia defeated the Indian team by 66 runs at the same Sydney Cricket Ground in the first ODI of the series. The last match of the series will be held on 2 December in Canberra.

Team India has lost its second ODI series on foreign soil this year. The last time New Zealand beat Team India with 3–0 in February.

India scored 338 chasing the target of 390 runs

 Australia won the toss and chose batting first, gave a target of 390 runs. In response, the Indian team could only score 338 runs after loosing 9 wickets. For the team, Virat Kohli scored 89 and KL Rahul scored 76 runs. Indian openers Mayank Agarwal (28) and Shikhar Dhawan (30) gave a good start by establishing the partnership of 58 runs.

After this, both batsmen returned to the pavilion early.  Pat Cummins had Mayank caught by wicketkeeper Alex Carrie and  Hazlewood caught Dhawan by Mitchell Starc.

 After this, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer shared the innings with a partnership of 93 runs for the third wicket.  However, Iyer returned to the pavilion after scoring 38 runs.  After this, Kohli shared a 72-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Lokesh Rahul. After Kohli’s dismissal, Rahul shared a 63-run partnership for the 5th wicket with Hardik Pandya, but could not win.

Cummins took 3 wickets

 Among Australian bowlers, Pat Cummins took 3 wickets, while Josh Hazlewood and Adam Jampa had taken 2–2 wickets each . Moises Henriques and Glenn Maxwell took 1–1 wickets.

Australia made the biggest score against India

 Australia scored 389 runs losing 4 wickets.  This is also the team’s highest score against India. The previous highest score of Australia against India was made by Australia in the first ODI of this series, scoring 374 on 27 November.  Overall South Africa holds the record for the highest score of 438 runs against India. This score was made in the 2015 Mumbai ODI.

Marriage proposal in between match

 An Indian man who arrived to watch the match proposed the Australian Fan for marriage with Ring. She also said yes.  Meanwhile, Australian player Glenn Maxwell on the field cheered by clapping. This incident happened in the 20th over of the Indian innings.
